In the @historicalcostumemakers guild discord there was a recent Spooky Gift Exchange. And now we have had the reveal this weekend, I am delighted to show off this beaded moth brooch I made for my gift-recipient!
He’s fully handmade using sequins, beads, lace, minky, velvet and one of my most precious vintage buttons in the centre. He’s loosely based on a supremely goth American silk moth but it’s a very “inspired by” type of connection.
I am so pleased with it. I want to make one for myself. It was also incredibly satisfying working on planning the layout and combinations of beads and colours etc – honestly I couldn’t be happier! Happy spooky season to one and all. 👻
